The second ‘die Reihe. Beiträge zu auditiver Kunst und Kultur’ event during the summer term 2018 presents Alvin Lucier, American composer of experimental music and sound installations, whose work has greatly influenced contemporary music and sound art, together with The Ever Present Orchestra, dedicated to the performance of Alvin Lucier’s instrumental compositions.
The evening will start with works for/adapted for the The Ever Present Orchestra, including the premier of a new piece by Alvin Lucier for four electric guitars, followed by the classic “I am sitting in a room” (1969). The evening will finish with a conversation with Alvin Lucier himself.
