3 Nights of Music Kunstfabrik am Flutgraben / Thursday, 31.10. – Saturday 02.11.2019

An event that lives up to its name: 3 Nights of Music does just what it says on the poster, presenting a range of excellent concerts at Kunstfabrik in Kreuzberg including performances by Peter Brötzmann, Christian Lillinger, Marino Pliakas, Per-Ake Holmlander, Jan St Werner, Casper Brötzmann, Mats Gustafsson and Michael Wertmüller.

Peter Brötzmann (born 6 March 1941) is a German free jazz saxophonist and clarinetist. He studied painting in Wuppertal and was involved with the Fluxus movement but grew dissatisfied with art galleries and exhibitions. He experienced his first jazz concert when he saw American jazz musician Sidney Bechet while still in school at Wuppertal, and it made a lasting impression

Jan St. Werner is a critically acclaimed and internationally recognized sound innovator. In a myriad of ways – as a solo artist, a collaborator, through his group Mouse On Mars, as a producer, as a lecturer at MIT, or as a professor of Dynamic Acoustic Research at the Academy of Fine Arts, Nuremburg – Werner has challenged traditional approaches to creating and experiencing music.

Mats Olof Gustafsson (born 29 October 1964) is a Swedish free jazz saxophone player. He is known for his tonal belligerence and intensity when improvising.

Three Nights of Music is curated by Michael Wertmüller and Peter Brötzmann in collaboration with Gallery Max Hetzler/Berlin.
