This event series takes its name „5 SECONDS“ from the 5 second delay of the monumental church hall where it takes place, which in this case isn’t so much of a problem as an artistic challange. By foregoing on amplification in favour of solely acoustic instruments and reducing the lighting to a minimum the audiences attention is concentrated, in contrast to the usual sensory-overload strategies of PA systems and light shows.

The stylelistic spectrum ranges from presentations of contemporary music and free improvisation, to minimal (Cage, Riley, Pärth, Andriessen) and choral arangments, percussive-liturature, acousmatic and experimental song. „5 Seconds-Musik für Hall & Raum“ is a concert in the form of an installationwith varying stages in the room.
