Heimspiel # 5: Apples In Space @ Alter Roter Löwe Rein Berlin | Sunday, 19.01.2014

To be, or not to be, that is the question. And it’s truly an essential one to which Phil Haußmann and Julie Mehlum aka ‘Apples in Space’ may have an answer. Eventually the two have already been confronted with the subject of existence: in the movie ‘Haialarm am Müggelsee’ (shark warning at Müggelsee) they fall prey to the greedy shark.

Before deceasing they fortunately find the time to perform their song ‘Vespa’, which very much appealed to director and ‘Element of Crime’ singer Sven Regener.

In March 2013 ‘Apples in Space’ joined ‘Element of Crime’ for an extended tour around Germany as their opener – including a five-day-set at sold out ‘Lido’.

Along the tour they recorded their 2nd EP ‘The Never Read Letter’ with the help of Sven Regener. And it came to a further collaboration, when working on the soundtrack to an episode of detective series ‘Polizeiruf 110’ being screened in public TV.

Till January 30th 2014 Apples In Space will be on stage at ‘Berliner Ensemble’ to perform their own music and cover songs within Leander Haußmann’s production of ‘Hamlet’. To be, or not to be, that is the question.

This event is highly recommended by Digital in Berlin! We are giving away 2 x 2 tickets. Just send a mail to win@digitalinberlin.de with “Apples In Space” as the subject.
