The fifth edition of Archives Sonores invites you into a night of expanded listening and sonic experimentation at Studio DB. Curated by Avi Caspi and Izumi Yamamoto, the series explores the shifting edges of sound art, offering a platform where electronic, acoustic, and visual practices intersect and transform.
ENA (Yu Asaeda), a key figure in Tokyo’s underground scene, creates fractured sonic environments rooted in UK bass and Japanese abstraction. Known for his intricate textures, deep bass, and abstract soundscapes, ENA’s live performances have captivated audiences at Berlin Atonal and Kraftwerk. His work merges club energy with artistic depth, pushing the boundaries of electronic music. With his uncompromising approach and consistent artistic signature, ENA is now considered one of the most influential artists in his genre.
Koenraad Ecker, a Belgian sound artist, composer, and researcher based in Berlin, blends electro-acoustic composition with field recordings and experimental sound manipulation. His “sonic archaeology” practice, including the project Kumbukumbu, explores sound’s role in memory, history, and social space. Ecker’s performances evoke a sense of place through organic sounds and experimental techniques.
Ila Moire (Filippo Schelde), a Berlin-based artist, blends ambient, noise, and classical elements into immersive compositions. His album Xilo-lito-fonia (commissioned for Gallery ARKAD) explores sonic tension through Musique Concrète-inspired textures. Schelde’s work invites introspection, where repetition and dissonance create emotional resonance, pulling listeners into a contemplative space.
Synthtati (Tatiana Makrinova), a multidisciplinary artist and co-founder of Moons Collective, combines sound art, nature, and visual design into immersive audio-visual works. Her ambient DJ set will open the night with dreamy field recordings and slow rhythms, gradually building a captivating sonic atmosphere.
Rahul Sharma is a visual artist known for his responsive video and light environments. His live visuals transform the space into a dynamic, evolving landscape that enhances the audience’s experience. Justalightwriter is a light designer who merges light and sound to create immersive, dynamic environments.
