Audiovisionen presents a great double bill at the Zwinglikirche in Friedrichshain this May with Thomas Fehlmann & Daniela Huerta both performing concerts plus live visuals from Modellogia.
For Böser Herbst, Thomas Fehlmann returns to the sediment of ages, drawing from a similar lexicon of sounds to that used on 2018’s ‘1929 – Das Jahr Babylon’. Like that album, Böser Herbst was produced as the soundtrack to a documentary made by Matthias Luthardt, ‘Herbst 1929, Schatten Über Babylon’, which offers historical insight to the third season of the television series Babylon Berlin. It adds yet another string to the bow of this most forward-thinking and creative artist, whose history takes in NDW (Palais Schaumburg), techno (3MB) and psychedelic ambience (The Orb), plus a clutch of gorgeous solo albums that explore wide terrain, from the dancefloor through supine home listening to compelling soundtrack work.
Born in Mexico, Daniela Huerta is a Berlin based artist whose work oscillates between performance art, sound design, and multimedia projects. Huerta has developed her own multi-layered and eclectic form of DJ-ing under the moniker Baby Vulture. When she raises her many voices it is like a call, pure, long and throbbing. She digs, she excavates. In an almost archeological manner, she keeps searching for distinct tones and noises that she turns into transportive collages where fragments of sound, space, and time come together.
Audiovisionen is a platform for acoustic, electronic and electro-acoustic live music, in the rooms of the Zwingli Church, Berlin. Curated by Hannes Teichmann, as part of the program of the Kulturraum-Zwingli Kirche e.V.
