Following the release of her double CD Fan No. 2, recently on monika enterprise and prior to her new remix EP Berlin producer Barbara Morgenstern gives a special piano concert this month at .HBC.
[audio:Barbara Morgenstern – The_Operator_(Piano_Version).mp3]Renowned for her intimate and friendly style of concerts, this is sure to be a performance to remember.
Fan No. 2 charts the course of Barbara Morgenstern’s catalogue and the development of her style. Not quite a “best of” in the conventional sense of the term, but still packed with “hits hits hits”. While the immanent remix EP contains mixes by the likes of Schneider TM, Gudrun Gut and Hans Nieswandt as well as Morgenstern’s own rendition of the Prince classic Sign O The Times.

In 2004, at the invitation of the Goethe-Institut, Morgenstern undertook a 34-date world tour together with Maximilian Hecker. Bill Wells’ 2004 mini-album Pick Up Sticks featured contributions from Morgenstern on two tracks.
She also joined Paul Wirkus and To Rococo Rot’s Stefan Schneider in September Collective, a project which had its origins in encores that they joined together to play at their own individual concerts while on tour in Poland. September Collective’s eponymous debut album was released on the Geographic label, an offshoot of Domino Records run by the Pastels’ Stephen Pastel.
