Bascovo is the Berlin-based trio of Richard Barrett and Richard Scott on electronics and Michael Vorfeld on percussion.
Bascovo is dedicated to animated free group improvisation, combining electroacoustics, analogue synthesizers, weird controllers and acoustic percussion.
Richard Barrett is internationally active as both composer and improvising performer, and has collaborated with many leading performers in both areas, while developing works and ideas which increasingly leave behind the distinctions between them.

His long-term collaborations include the electronic duo FURT which he formed with Paul Obermayer in 1986, composing for and performing with the ELISION contemporary music group since 1990, and regular appearances with the Evan Parker Electro-Acoustic Ensemble since 2003.
Richard Scott has been performing and composing improvised and electroacoustic music for over 25 years, performing and recording with Grutronic, Twinkle³, Clive Bell and Evan Parker.

He uses some unusual customised instruments such as the WiGi, self-designed at STEIM, Buchla Thunder, Buchla Lightning, Weevil and Blippoo Box. He lives in Berlin, is a long term artistic resident at STEIM in Amsterdam, sometimes a lecturer in music at Lancaster University and co-curator of two concert series in Berlin: AUXXX Berlin and Basic Electricity.
Michael Vorfeld, musician and visual artist, based in Berlin, plays percussion and self designed stringed instruments and realises electro-acoustic sound pieces. He works in the field of improvised, experimental music and sound art and is often involved in site-specific art projects.

He realises light installations and performances with light, works with photography and film. Besides his solo activities he is a member of various ensembles and collaborates with artists from different art forms. His list of activities includes numerous concerts, performances and exhibitions in Europe, the USA, Asia and Australia.
Steffi Weismann, born in 1967 in Zurich, attended the Zurich School of Design and studied costume and set design as well as experimental music and performance at the Berlin University of the Arts. She is working on audiovisual and spatial concepts in time based arts and is exploring the interactions between language, sound and new communication media.

Apart from works in the context of performance and visual art, she is performing experimental music and fluxus with the group “Die Maulwerker”. Since 2005 she is working with the musician Annette Krebs on audiovisual projects as the duo “Telefon”. Recently she is focusing on outdoor interventions and her soundbelt “LapStrap” that she developed with do-it-yourself-technologies.
Annette Krebs studied music and concert guitar in Frankfurt/Main, and has lived in Berlin since 1993. She has worked intensively in the crossover area between improvisation and composition, exploring the possibilities of the prepared guitar with regard to sound, structure, noise, the mixing of materials, and space.

Various preparation methods are used to produce noises and sounds, which are then enlarged through the use of sometimes high levels of amplification. The sound of the amplification and mixingboards, additional tapes, radios and objects are used as musical material.
She works also in the field of electroacoustic composition, de- and reconstructing selected sound- and noisematerial. Fragments of noises, of words and sentences are used to remind, to suggest on certain meanings, fusing with the sounds to a surreal, abstract soundscape.
