Ni Vu Ni Connu is releasing an exquisite triple LP album to celebrate the 60th birthday of Echtzeitmusik composer-performer Burkhard Beins. All recordings were made in March/April 2023 at Morphine Raum and then subsequently distilled into the eight tracks of this release.
In addition to the performing Andrea Ermke, Axel Dörner, Quentin Tolimieri, Tony Elieh and Marta Zapparoli, Beins’ other duo partners for Eight Duos were Andrea Neumann (inside-piano), Anaïs Tuerlinckx (grand piano) and Michael Renkel (spanish guitar). Accompanying the music, its cover presents a duo portrait photo series by Carina Khorkhordina.
Throughout March/April 2023, Burkhard Beins performed in eight different duo combinations across four concerts, each of these being a double bill. Some of those duos were long established while others were more recent encounters. In each duo Beins was featured on a different instrument or at least variation of an instrumentation, ranging from drum kit via acoustic and electro-acoustic percussion to various kinds of live electronics and bass guitar.
