KATE CARR has been investigating the intersections between sound, place, and emotionality both as an artist and a curator since 2010. During this time she has ventured from tiny fishing villages in northern Iceland, explored the flooded banks of the Seine in a nuclear power plant town, and recorded wildlife in South Africa and in the wetlands of southern Mexico.
MELANIE VELARDE is a Berlin-based artist with a decades-long history with experimental music and art, playing in bands, exhibiting in galleries around the world, and exploring her fascination with field recordings at length. The solo music she’s released under the Temporary Archives name works elements of her background in sound art into a more tuneful and electronic-based approach.
A night of soundscapes for real and imagined locations, incorporating field recordings, tapes, broken instruments and keyboards.
