Cavern of Anti-Matter is the new project by Stereolab guitarist Tim Gane. Following the release of their album Blood-Drums on Berlin label Grautag earlier this year the band will give a live show at Bassy in Berlin this December.
Support comes from Nappa, a recent project by SchneiderTM and the 8mm Bar DJ team Fuckin Oscar, Peter Magnum, Fast Eddie and Olli 8MM.
Tim Gane was guitarist and Joe Dilworth the original drummer in the groop Stereolab. They formed Cavern of Anti-Matter to record a dystopian future music LP for the Berlin based Grautag label. The LP “blood-drums”was released in a double vinyl format on Grautag in June 2013.

The band is essentially a power trio, but without any discernible dynamics and the music is mainly electronic and heavily treated. Some idea of the sound may be gleaned from the bands influences which include David Bowie’s “Chant Of The Ever Circling Skeletal Family”, Mahogany Brain’s “Bloody Hide And Seek In The Rain” and “Hot Milk Elbow” and the front cover to Heldon 6.

NAPPA (Featuring Schneider TM and Class Großzeit) Schneider TM is a multidimensional music project of Dirk Dresselhaus, named after his nickname Schneider. Since the late 80’s, Dirk has been active in different musical fields. From 1989 until 1997 he played and sang in adventurous rock and pop bands like Hip Young Things and Locust Fudge (both on Glitterhouse Records) before he became more active in electronic music around 1996. Schneider TM is responsible for a couple of experimental electro-freak-pop albums (on City Slang / Mute) and mini-hits like ‘Reality Check’, ‘Frogtoise’ and a cover version of a song by The Smiths called ‘The Light 3000’, a collaboration with Kptmichigan that was hugely acclaimed by John Peel, The Wire etc..
