Cinematic Ambient Festival Berlin at Chapel Alter St. Matthäus Kirchhof / Sunday, 17.12.2017

Cinematic Ambient stands for epic, melancholic and emotional music best for sunsets and inner views. It has a more dramatic tendency in comparison to original ambient music. There can be ups and downs in the volume of the music, just like slightly moves to different directions which reflect different moods.

All participating musicians are composers and sound artists currently living and working in Berlin focusing on electroacoustic music compositions. The music is made of slow, nostalgic compositions filled with field recordings, effected guitars and mellow soundscapes. It is based on deep, electronic sound design marked by synths, arpeggios, glitchy beats and evolving sequences.

The event will take place in a spectacular location with light installation from Christoph Körner. The chapel of the Alter St. Matthäus Kirchhof (cemetery) is still used for funerals and seldom used for concert. This will be the first electronic kind of concert in the chapel.
