Citron Citron and Telemat at West Germany / Wednesday, 9.10.2024

This October we are delighted to welcome another another band from Geneva’s fantastic Bongo Joe label to Berlin. Following the release of their excellent new album Maréeternelle the duo Citron Citron will play a special live show at West Germany on Kotti.

Citron Citron is back! The ethereal sister-and-brother duo has worked hard over the past two years on their new album “Maréeternelle,” set to be released next autumn. Maintaining their majestic compositions, dual lead vocals, and home-made organic sound machinery, Citron Citron delves deeper into their sonic universe, singing about daily life, death, and love with the same poetic and personal vibe.

The second album by Citron Citron, two siblings from Geneva in Switzerland, finds Augustin and Zoé Sjollema tackling weighty concerns, through vocal harmony and soundtracked by synth-powered experimental pop. Recorded in their home studio, and with a rare ‘70s EMS synth handed down from their respected avant garde artist grandfather Rainer Boesch also making an appearance, Citron Citron’s light touch is an analogue charm, measuring up to the giants of the genre’s history.

They will be joined on stage at West Germany by Telemat who will play the opening concert. Telemat are Mateo Sánchez Galán and Pablo Thiermann the Electronic composer from Distrito Federal, México currently based in Berlin, Germany. Together they play shoegaze inflected electronic pop.
