Rising from the ashes of recently-disbanded and widely acclaimed psychniks MMOSS, Doug Tuttle has wasted no time in striking out alone for a solo project, not particularly dissimilar to his former group.
Here he focusses more on the pure and original pop song-structure, rather than on the kraut and drone his main band was known for. These songs are catchy and consistently captivating, full of studio tics and layers upon layers of well-placed instrumentals.

Equal parts Byrds, Big Star, The Zombies, the old Pink Floyd and Kurt Vile fight for your attention. And they all come out as a winner in this impressive exercise of psychedelic world building.
The fruits of his labor are clearly evident in his debut solo album. Tuttle deftly forges a sound that all his, weaving nebulous jams into masterfully crafted pop gems. There is also heavy introspection here leading one to consider other artists who were terrific as the member of a band but that really excelled when they began releasing material under their own name.
