It’s almost hard to believe, but on June 24th, 2017, Berlin’s first (and for a long time, only) city-center indie DIY festival will already celebrate its ninth edition! The festival is cherished for its celebration of artistic integretic and its wild, undogmatic mixing of genres, but mostly because it’s THE place for new musical discoveries for Berlin’s live music maniacs.
Jointly organized and curated by local promoters Fourtrack on Stage, Mohair Sam, and amSTARt, the festival presents off-kilter and adventurous sounds, with artists such as Scout Niblett, Chinawoman, Dagobert, Allie, and The Wave Pictures having performed at the festival’s past editions.
The festival locations have always been a central factor: first held at Berlin cult clubs Bar25 and Kater Holzig at the river Spree, the festival now calls ://about blank’s beautiful garden area its home. This year, the festival team again unearthed some musical treasures for the third-longest day of the year – announced artists include Berlin lofi heroes Tendre Biche, up-and-coming German troubadours The Düsseldorf Düsterboys and indie pop darlings The Goon Sax from Australia.
