What is fact and what is fake? Where does reality end and virtuality begin? And what role do art and music play in this discussion? The Marc Sinan Company dedicate their two-day festival “Dreams of Electric Sheep” to these questions. Different formats have the performers both critically and ironically examine “fake news”, while considering the possible consequences of digital overload.
On the first evening of the festival, Neue Vocalsolisten together with guitarist Marc Sinan premiere award-winning composer Oscar Bianchi’s “CIRCLED EXISTENCE”, that tackles the debate around big data musically.
In the musical theatre talkshow “#WTF 3000” (What-The-Fact 3000) on the second evening, author Nataly Bleuel and her guests Anke Domscheit-Berg (publicist and politician), Liane Mallinger from the initiative #ichbinhier, Mateja Medet, actor at the Maxim Gorki Theatre, Marina Weisband, politician and Dr. Theresa Züger from the Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society discuss current topics of digitalization and Social Media, underscored musically by the Marc Sinan Company with special guest Paul Frick. Both festival days include workshops by the Nemetschek Foundation where participants can explore methods of fact-checking.
