El Caribefunk was formed in 2012 in Buenos Aires, a meeting point for musicians from different latitudes (mainly from Colombia) who came together to create music through the fusion of rhythms of the Greater Caribbean, expressing an state of mind, the warmth and openness of the Caribbean and a bold belief in the power of music to joyfully bring people together.
After touring for years as a 4-piece group, today they continue their independent and self-managed project as a duo by Funkcho Salas on lead vocal and guitars, and Andrés Mordecai on multi-percussion and second vocal (both from Cartagena de Indias, Colombia) which has meant new challenges and new musical exploration.
