Marmo Music Recordings celebrates the debut album release of Berlin-based experimental rock project Them Caged Dogs. Special guest, bass guitar vistuoso Farida Amadou. Debut album and Berlin show for the four member outfit ready to stage its captivating blend of rock’n’roll styles and cinematic psychedelia. “Today’s Duty, Tomorrow’s Ruin”, out now for Marmo, combines progressive, punk and jazz rock with mesmeriging ambient interludes and epic evolutions.
The project embodies the desire of band leader Zacharias Falkenberg to break free from an academic, echo chamber confined and classical music education. It releases his anger towards populist politics and economical lobbies. Its explosive diversity is a call for rebellion against cultural deafness and comformism.
Farida Amadou handles the electric bass guitar as a gateaway to her soul, exploring the infinite tonal nuances of the instrument. She has engaged in many different genres – including blues, jazz and hip-hop – and recorded material with the likes of Steve Noble, Thurston Moore, Peter Brötzmann, Floris Vanhoof and Julien Desprez. According to Marmo accounts, her recent album for Pattern Dissection and the show at Meakusma Festival 2022 were among the top groundbreaking and inspiring musical events of last year.
