It’s creaking, banging and humming once again in Berlin! The FESTIVAL FOR SELFBUILD MUSIC has a lot in shop for children and sound artists: On 3rd of September between 1 pm and 11 pm, visitors to Holzmarkt 25 and the Säälchen will be able to playfully experience the whole range of self-made music and sound production in workshops, concerts and installations.
DIT is still written in capital letters here: At numerous workshop stands, microphones, booming sound boxes or melodic bottle guitars can be built and played. Those who prefer to discover rather than build will find musical installations by Soundscape TUB, the Sound Carousel from SchneidersLaden or physics to touch by X-Stage Project all over the Holzmarkt.
Lovers of sound art and experimental noise will also get their money’s worth: five concerts in Säälchen will present the diversity of self-built music and its makers: Tausendpixelkurzekante makes the banisters rattle, Jo dives with us into the sound world of her glass tube instrument, Gleeetch works with old toys and blasts us with 8-bit gameboy music in noise style, and Agente Costura creates not only textiles but also crazy sounds with her sewing tools. For the final, Laure Boer serves up a hypnotic live set made of and with all kinds of self-build things.
