RE-ENGINEERING is the new album from Heatsick, aka Berlin based British artist Steven Warwick.
Well known for his epic multi-hour live club sets and acerbic wit, he characterizes this collection of new material as a “cybernetic poem” that both indulges us in the mores of hypnotic dance music while holding a critical, and at times satirical, lens toward the culture writ large.
The title track ‘RE-ENGINEERING’ is symbolic of this balance, the crisp spoken word poetry communicating hypermodernity in crisis in a piece that equally evokes the masked humour of Chic and the biting surreality of Chris Morris.

Heatsick will perform this track live for the first time and will be joined by friends involved in the album, and ably supported by guest DJs.
“Modern life is still rubbish you say. Modern rubbish is still life”. The tracks ‘MIMOSA’ and ‘SPECULATIVE’ play with a similar conflict, warping the themes of modern luxury familiar to Malcolm McLaren’s seminal ‘Paris’ album, and delivering rare vocal lines that convey distance and a degree of uneasiness.

The masterful club tracks that constitute the bulk of this album feel all the more powerful and honest when framed in this hyper aware context, confirming the underlying inclusiveness in Warwick’s music and perspective.
Heatsick’s friends and guests are Hanne Lippard, Skanfrom and Lotic. Hanne Lippard’s work is conveyed through a variety of disciplines such as film, audio and performance. In order to connect these widespread elements in her work, she always tries to give voice to the subject by positioning herself as the narrator. Hanne appears on Heatsick’s Re-engineering album, providing vocals on the title track.

Roger Semsroth (aka Sleeparchive) performs his first live set as Skanfrom in 10 years!. Under the Skanfrom moniker he creates stunning electro via natural, analogue synth soundscapes – at times compared to Bochum Welt. His is a futurisitic vision, recalling Blade Runner and pre millenium nostalgia.
Houston born, Berlin based J’Kerian Morgan aka Lotic runs his Dissonance parties at Chesters and has just released his Fallout EP on Sci-Fi & Fantasy – ‘“a brilliant exhibition of disorienting dance music that runs the gamut of screwed ‘n’ chopped r&b, noisey bass, and disturbing ambience.”
