The J.A.W Family keeps pushing the music going “beyond the genres”. After having a blast with the Glasper Experiment last October, here is the “next thing” coming from NY City!
ERIMAJ is the creation of Harlem-based musician Jamire Williams, one of the most exciting drummers on the music scene today alongside Chris “Daddy” Dave or Justin Brown – a drummer who sounds like Blakey & Roach but winds up with Dilla & DJ Screw.
Originally from Houston, Jamire has been snatched up by a bunch of influential cats such as Robert Glasper, Christian Scott, Jason Moran or the Doctor Lonnie Smith.

“Conflict Of A Man” is ERIMAJs debut album on the Tiombe Lockhart label, following the Cinematic piece “Memo to all” EP (just listen to the brilliant rework of Madvillain classic “Rainbow”).
The long play is a perfect blend of jazz, R&B, nu-soul with hypnotic hip-hop beats, a beautiful piece of work referring now and then to visionaries like James Dewitt Yancey, Radiohead or Tony Williams.
