On 26 November, starting at 3 pm, about 30 km south of Berlin in the village of Kallinchen at Motzender See near Zossen (Teltow-Fläming), another interdisciplinary festival will take place. The second Kaleidoscope Festival – the first one had opened the courtyard as a new cultural and meeting place at the beginning of July – invites to shadow theatre, exhibition, sound art and music as well as cosy get-togethers with warm food and drinks. The exhibition will then remain open until 11 December, always on Sat and Sun from 2 to 6 pm.
The Kaleidoscope Festival will once again occupy the entire courtyard area and enliven the various rooms of the three-sided courtyard with art and music. The artist Anna Fabuli will begin with a shadow theatre workshop for young and old in the Small Stable at 2 pm. This will be followed at 3 pm by a performance with the figures she has just created with the guests. The artist Annika Hippler also works with light, capturing the movement and complexity of sound in her photographs. The sculptor Thomas Lucker exposes his sandstone sculptures with photographs and thus gives the stone a deeper dimension.
The exhibited art will be accompanied by three musicians: Among others, the new composition “Shimmer” (2022) by Lucie Vítková (accordion) from New York will be performed for the first time in a trio with Marleen Dahms (trombone) and Anne Müller (cello) from Berlin. Both the sounds of the place Kallinchen am See and the musical material accumulated in the podcast series “Kaleidoscope of Sounds – Music Stories from Kallinchen”, funded by the Federal Agency for Civic Education, are sources of inspiration for the music. The sound artist Lucio Capece will end the day with a fresh sound performance.
