In this, the second installment of Mash Banger we bring together another genre bending collective of musicians, selectors and audio specialists to collaborate and experiment for your sonic pleasure.
2.99 is a new collaboration between Shigeru Ishihara and Tom Page.This night will see them on stage together for only the third time as they delve deeper into their world of old meets new, dark meets light, electronics and beats, blending together a mash up of ambience, grooves, dub, jazz and beyond.
Drummer, Tom Page (RocketNumberNine, Neneh Cherry, James Holden) will open the live session with a short improvised debut solo set. Putting to the test a blend of drums and percussion, triggering samples and synths via acoustic triggers. Audio engineer Goh Nakada will be behind the desk to expand on Tom’s improvisations with live dubbing.
Goh Nakada has built a reputation delivering quality sound to peoples ears across the globe in his role as an audio engineer. Working with artists such as The Bug, Dean Blunt and Hype Williams we look forward to hear him at work.
Shigeru Ishihara (DJ Scotch Egg, Scotch Bonnett, Waq Waq Kingdom) has been making waves on the electronic underground music scene for sometime. From Tokyo to London and Brighton to Berlin his music is always turning heads.
