Among the multidimensional concepts blending environments, genres, styles, and techniques found on GAPS, the pursuit of synthesizing acoustic and electronic sounds stands out. RZWD creates a space where the boundaries between these domains blur and lose their significance.
Music journalist Carsten Rochow aka. Clystre is a musician fanatic about synthesizers. Having created music under various aliases and performed extensively live (including at Berlin’s Superbooth synth fair), Rochow crafted his debut album, which draws inspiration from Krautrock, early synth-pop, psychedelia, and electronica. Instead of focusing on fast tempo changes, his music emphasizes precise shifts in sound texture and recurring melodic or harmonic motifs. A form stripped down to the essentials in each moment enables a focus on nuances and details, including synth melodies with a shadowy energy that bubbles, blurs, and remains fluid.
Desmond Denker is going to represent a new, yet undisclosed project by Moniker Eggplant and DJ Junktion is taking us all home to our bass desires. It’s one of the rare Moniker Eggplant showcases, it’s a record release party, it’s the purest XBerg underground.
