Editionmutation and Mindpirates invite you to a special Mutations Club night with HPrizm (of the ANTIPOP CONSORTIUM), MimiCof and re-spule.
HPrizm aka High Priest is known for “Evoking images of Sun Ra and Africa Bambaata at once. As the founding member of the critically acclaimed Antipop Consortium, Priest has consistently challenged the boundaries of traditional hip-hop, winning the praise of taste makers across the globe.
HPrizm’s music barrels through passages that sound like Woody Woodpecker gone Chicago footwork, post-industrial techno, early Swans armed with keytars, gothic musique concrete, and chopped-and-screwed Oval. It has more in common with Demdike Stare than Big Dada.

Functionally instrumental, it bears little in common with High Priest’s hip-hop past, besides the sonic adventurism it shares with Antipop. And, in its wild twists and turns, it doesn’t sound much like anything else at the moment, either.
A native to Kyoto, Japan but making the creative pilgrimage to Berlin in 2008, Midori Hirano’s productions are based around the use of traditional instrumentation – piano, strings, voice – and augmented with often subtle electronic processing and digital samples creating a rich, rolling sound that is at once warm and melodic while tracing unexpected musical trajectories.
