Under the title of “Modern Classical Music” our fifth Neue Meister concert gives insight into progressive currents of classical music and into today’s music trends.
The Deutsches Kammerorchester Berlin (DKO) will play works by composers such as HAUSCHKA, Christian Jost and Caroline Shaw.
Nominated for an Oscar and the Golden Globe Award in 2017 for his film music, HAUSCHKA (Volker Bertelmann) presents himself as the sound inventor whose new work “Materials” reflects the colours, the physical state and sounds of steel. The composer Christian Jost has arranged his new string quartet “Ghost Song” for orchestra specially for the NEUE MEISTER Concert. In 2013 the New York composer Caroline Shaw was the youngest winner ever of the Pulitzer Prize for Music. Inspired by Haydn’s opus 77 no. 2 she wrote the piece “Entr’acte”, which she will perform for our guests at this evening’s concert.
