A brilliantly dystopic musical theatre evening: along the former route of the Berlin Wall the Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop traces today’s remnants of Odysseus’ mistaken course while using the video and sound material created on the fringes of the vanished city: Bach’s “The Art of Fugue” is repeated, mirrored and overwritten, supplemented with Schubert’s Erl-King triplets dashing forwards, and the downward spiral of the bass line of the “Tales of Brave Ulysses”.
