A dense program of electro-acoustic music, performances and sound art will be played on Hanseatenweg at the start of summer. The focus on this day is on the diversity of the Berlin scene.
The Berlin Loudspeaker Orchestra of the two universities UdK and “Hanns Eisler” will present pieces by students on up to 24 loudspeakers, while DEGEM will present works by Hanna Hartmann, Beatriz Ferreyra, Natasha Barret, Ludger Brümmer and Trevor Wishart, commissioned by the former head of the legendary TU Berlin studio, to mark the 80th birthday of Folkmar Hein.
This year’s Thomas Seelig Fixed Media Prize will be awarded to Clemens von Reusner at the same event. Two former scholarship holders, Viola Yip and Katharina Zimmerhackl, will perform their works “liminal space” and “Soliloquy with Ape”, the first one being an electroacoustic perfomance, the second one an immersive multichannel radio play.
Manfred Miersch and visual artist Kalma work with historical and new subharmonic sounds and Stefan Streich presents his concertante multimedia installation “Vier Celli” for the first time 20 years after the initial idea. The day will be rounded off with a live program as part of Transmitter Radio Festival by Radio Industry.
