London has bred many great Techno artists, more specifically the artists on Warp.
[audio:xxx-xxx.mp3]Ed Handley and Andy Turner aka Plaid are among the ranks. Plaid’s live performances are complete multi-media experiences powered by laptops.
Their deep minimalist Electro-driven Techno is sequenced with Koyaanisqatsi-like videomaterial of abstract and repetitive urban and natural landscapes. Plaid emerged from London-based techno act Black Dog, and can be mentioned in the same breath as acts of the golden Warp generation like LFO, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Autechre.

With the new album “Scintilli”, they are back with their first studio album in eight years. Apart from a number of soundtrack works, especially for Japanese film productions like the mind-blowing anime “Tekkonkinkreet”, it can bee seen as the direct successor to “Spokes” (2003).
Bjork was so excited by this sound that she asked them to play as her support act on the Asia tour, and engaged them as songwriters and remixers.
