To celebrate the release of the fifth edition of the “Faces“ series, Project Mooncircle invited a couple of their best producers for a label night at Club Gretchen.
The Greek duo Tendts, Submerse, who just came back to his UK home after a long stay in Japan, London based Deft, and Berlin-based producer Sieren.
“Tendts“. What kind of word is that? Could it be two words merged into one? Or was it one from the beginning ? Let’s just say that the idea behind the word came up when two people were writing music in a room.

In this particular room the only window that had a view of the outside world was always blocked by a rusty, dusty tent. Was this annoying tent worth becoming their artistic totem?
Maybe. But the one thing sure needed was a change. They had to transform the word into something else. They had to add something else. One letter. Tent. Tend. TENDTS.

Hailing from Cheshire, Submerse is an esteemed producer/DJ with a distinct and recognisable sound that traverses Beat Music, Ambient, 2-step and Autonomic whilst being punctuated by a myriad of unique and personal influences.
The past year has seen him at his most prolific, releasing tracks & remixes with R&S sister label Apollo Records, Med School, Project: Mooncircle and many more. Submerse was featured by Pioneer Japan and was also named ‘Band Of The Week’ In The Guardian newspaper (2012).

Despite his young age, Deft has already managed to establish a sonic personality in his music that is earning him support from all the right people, in all the right places.
Following a fairly standard musical upbringing – you know the usual: learning to play drums, playing in bands with cringe worthy names, drawing influences from hip hop and electronic music – Deft took the next logical, some might say cliché, step and started making music with software experimenting with drum loops and basic production.

Deft’s productions are not just powerful and intricate they also manage to carry the sort of emotions and atmosphere that only come from a deeper understanding of the subject matter.
Sieren is the maiden name of Matthias Frick’s mother and also his current alias under which he started to release his first free tracks in 2011.

Rumour has it that he has a dark secret history of producing experimental techno, albeit his love for UK influenced bass music existed for more than one handful of years.
It was not until recently that he began to make the most of his love for field recording and experimental soundscaping and is now throwing his full force into music, while simultaneously finishing a university degree in computer science and design before moving from small town to métropole to follow a new set of challenges and advance to the next stage of his life.
