Reminiszenz is an immersive experience with experimental, electronic live music, performance and film. In the style of Platon’s theory of anamnesis, the energetic connection between human and environment is portrayed and the condition of complete unity and all embracing knowledge remembered. As a result, sound and music have a particular importance. The sound designer Marvin McMahon uses more than 80 different sounds, including whales singing, bears roaring, sounds of magnetic fields and asteroid showers. During the performance, Marvin and Daniel McMahon will compose an autonomous piece of music from these sound landscapes. The musical performance establishes the newly arranged pieces and elements from the film and adds new tones and layers corresponding to the emotions and reception of the audience.
