Ricardo Eizirik (born 1985 in Brazil) is a composer with an extended artistic production ranging from written music to installation art and performance works.
Their work focuses on themes such as bodily perception, colonial history, banality, the mechanization of society, and the by-products of daily life (i.e. junk, trash, noise, etc), They has also shown a keen interest in the historical depictions of these themes and often appropriates objects, sounds and movements from historical sources into his work. Parallel to their work in experimental music they Produce and DJ under the name “auto_timer”.
Ricardo will be part of Progetto Positano by ensemble mosaik at silent green on Wednesday, 23.10.2024.

1. What is the biggest inspiration for your music?
Daily life and people.
2. How and when did you get into making music?
I was always a very obsessive child, and music was a very early thing I connected with. I got into music making around when I was 11 years old when my mom put me into a music school so I wouldn’t be left alone at home during some weekdays.

Either work within visual arts/performance arts or work with something related to traveling, like on a train.

8. Who would you most like to collaborate with?
I have no idea, I have collaborated with so many people i admire. I guess the next person I collaborate with is the one I want to collaborate the most with :)
9. What was your best gig (as performer or spectator)?
As a performer and DJ there has been many, this year probably Adolescência at Radialsystem and as a DJ, the last Baile Trama I played. As a spectator probably Dearmcrusher or street carnival in the south of Minas Gerais.
10. How important is technology to your creative process?
Vital.
11. What can we expect from your concert in Berlin?
Some movement and sounds I have put a lot of love into.
