Another first class concert at the Volksbühne this January sees two old D/B friends
Hans-Joachim Roedelius of Cluster and native Berliner Arnold Kasar perform their new collaborative project Einfluss.
Hans-Joachim Roedelius is one of the forefathers of Cosmic Music and Krautrock. With his bands “Cluster” and “Harmonia”, which were created in the late 1960s and 1970s, he heavily influenced these music styles. Arnold Kasar is almost thirty years younger, grew up musically in Berlin in the 90s.
He broke the line between electronic dance music and jazz, worked with bands and musicians such as Micatone, Nylon and Friedrich Lichtenstein, and was active as an ensemblemist, arranger and producer within the circle of the influential Berlin label Sonar Kollektiv. Kasar has a classical piano education, Roedelius never learned to read music. As different as the approach of the two is, they share an openness towards all musical forms: Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Arnold Kasar develop a unique chemistry with their delicate piano chords and atmospheric electronic sounds.
