Katharina Ernst and Martin Siewert have been improvising and playing together as ALSO for almost ten years. They use guitar and electronics, drums and toys. “freistil” magazine writes “the duo balances noise rock with fragility” – meaning, you can have ALSO loud and ALSO soft.
Together with ALSO, we will examine what it means to create music of the moment, discover rhythms and soundscapes and listen to them build sonic landscapes. It will be a very special, intimate Schrumpf with two multifaceted musicians!
The series SCHRUMPF! opens up the work of Berlin artists for an intergenerational audience, presenting family versions of current pieces by Berlin ensembles. By shortening the pieces and providing moments of interaction between artists and audience, the series creates an entry for families into artistic worlds that would otherwise be reserved for adults.
The audience is invited to move, touch, ask questions and give their curiosity free rein as they explore each artistic offering. Each piece presented is representative of the specific aesthetic world of the artists involved, the series taken as a whole gives access to a wide swath of Berlin’s cultural landscape. For children 4 and up and adults of any age.
