In autumn the electronic music and digital art festival Semibreve will return for its 8th edition, showcasing a forward-thinking programme featuring some of the most revered electronic music and cross-disciplinary work from all around the globe. At the three-days event both new and established artists will perform at various venues across the Portuguese major city Braga.
Over the course of its previous seven editions, Semibreve commissioned performances and work by Cluster and Harmonia member Roedelius, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Andy Stott, Laurel Halo, and Alva Noto, gaining it a reputation as one of Europe’s finest small festivals and bringing it wide support from (electronic) music media outlets such as The Wire, Pitchfork and FACT.

Braga is the oldest archdiocese and Portugal’s northern major city. Known as one of the oldest Christian cities in the world, Braga’s history reflects on the considerable number of churches and religious monuments, but the city has lately become an important academic and research center due to the structures like Minho University and the Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory as well.
Like in previous years, the 2006 reopened Theatro Circo continues to serve Semibreve as a home stage for a majority of the announced performances. Additionally, Semibreve will host a number of talks and a workshop conducted by Keith Fullerton Whitman at Casa Rolão. Night time events will take place at gnration.
