Stephen Steinbrink, Arizona songwriter and sometime bandleader of French Quarter, is currently in a hyper-prolific burst of creativity, having released four albums and a handful of cassette and 7″ EPs in a brief two year span.
His creative burst will expand even more when he brings his intricate, intimate live performance to the “Since the devil is gone, I mostly feel lonely” series to berlin’s Monarch.
A compatriot of the K Records family, Steinbrink has shared the stage with Key Losers (ex-Dear Nora, P. W. Elvrum and Sun), Emperor X and LAKE.

His implausibly angelic voice has attracted a wide audience, and he is emerging as a leading poet of post-industrial America, a Woody Guthrie of desert suburbia.
His most recent album I Drew A Picture is littered with empty gas tanks, arson, and whispers of unrest, but it’s also full of beautifully rendered intimate moments.

Though still relatively undiscovered by large record labels and mainstream music press, Steinbrink’s work seems to be finding its niche in the cultural underground.
