THALAMUS V.01 w/ Kathy Alberici, Federico Nitti and more at Acud Macht Neu / Thursday, 30.06.2016

THALAMUS is pleased to announce their second event at Acud Macht Neu; V.01, highlighting spontaneity as one of their main interests. ACUD Macht Neu will host the event which will comprise of two collaborative live performances and will finish with a DJ set.

Classically trained, experimental violinist, Kathy Alberici, creates spine-tingling sounds that occupy the space between drone, soundscapes and noise. Federico Nitti manipulates code and live video feeds to create a technological response to a human interaction. The pair have been asked to speak on several occasions about their unique approach to live experimentation.

For the second performance, THALAMUS has invited rkss and Claire Tolan to perform together for the first time. In this experiment they will take turns responding to one another’s work from opposing ends of the space to create a dialogue. Claire Tolan’s explorations with ASMR and interest in its community has taken on many forms, from installation to hosting the radio show ‘You’re Worth It’ on BCR. rkss, who has recently released ‘Top Charted’ on tape with Where To Now?, is investigating notions of authenticity and realness through the exploration of EDM samples.

THALAMUS is a postgender curatorial collective. They investigate the obscured distinction between contemporary club culture and exhibition practices. They collaborate with artists from different fields to orchestrate thematically-curated sound experiments, engaging in an interdisciplinary dialogue over the course of a night.
