It all started on a cold rainy night in Brooklyn NYC, 1997. Neil Landstrumm set his first step on the cold pavement of the big apple and noticed a Youngman under the bridge beat boxing to an 808 drum machine powered by a car battery.
Landstrumm found him shelter, fed him, gave him electricity for his machines, and soon there after the legendary “Destroyaz” collaboration was born. The Destroyaz continues to innovate and push their vision of sound to dimensions yet to be discovered.
Landstrumm has been a fixture of the UK electronic music scene since 1994. He’s released work on many of the most recognized labels in the industry. Starting with Peacefrog, shifting gears to Berlin’s Tresor Records he then upped the bass-game onto arguably the UKs’ greatest electronic label of the moment, Planet Mu.

Youngman first stepped on the scene in 95′ creating his own variation of electronic music entitled ‘Electrostep’. He took the elements of drum n bass and combined them with the sonic elements from electro and more left field forms of techno.
After dropping a few experiments on Selway’s ‘Serotonin’ label, and Landstrumms genre defying ‘Scandinavia’ imprint, Youngman moved to Berlin in 2001 to expand his creative outlets and has furthermore released a multitude of sonic experiments on labels such as Tresor and Killekill.
The Destroyaz aim is to create sonic art which will stand the test of time, and Live performances which truly engage the audience. A Destroyaz show is an experience. A head to head sound clash of the vikings.
Unlike many electronic “Live acts” who appear to be reading their emails whilst playing, Youngman and Landstrumm drop beats like bombs, Synth lines like sonic tsunamis, whilst hyping the crowd on the mike, busting out beat-boxing and spitting freestyle rhymes, adding a real life NYC Hip Hop edge to their abstract and often off kilter techno sounds.
