At its second edition The Lake Radio presents Finnish DIY artist Islaja (sounds) feat. Ilan Katin (visuals) & drummer/percussionist Tatu Rönkkö’s new solo project called “Blood On A Sampler”. This line-up promises a mix between experimental sounds & bio-electronical beats whether created by hard- or software.
In underground circles Merja Kokkonen, or Islaja, is a respected avant-garde artist. A visual artist as well as a musician, multi-talent Islaja has played all the instruments on her album herself.

Singing in Finnish, her magnificent voice sounds all the more magical. Her albums have been released on Ecstatic Peace, the label of van Sonic Youth guitarist Thurston Moore. She is also a member of the free folk ‘supertrio’ Hertta Lussu Ässä.
The evening is completed by the performance of the Finnish sound artist Tatu Rönkkö. He was active for more than 10 years in the experimental music scene of Helsinki until he was supporting Efterklang during their live performances.

With “Blood On A Sampler” Rönkkö brings the experiments of the taiga into the Roter Salon. Expect bio-electronic beats combined with unheard sounds from the off.
The Lake Radio aims to be the anti-thesis of commercial radio. Its function is to serve as a platform for experimental and inspiring music and sounds, without playlists, boundaries or limitations.
