Two of Kompakt’s most exciting artists hit the Suicide Circus this Saturday for some guaranteed antics. Fehlmann, who just played with The Orb at Gretchen two weeks ago will showcase one of his many solo styles, while labelmate Justus Köhnke will drop a dose of his own unique take on electro.

THOMAS FEHLMANN remains as one of the most endearing and respected artists on KOMPAKT. He has inspired generations of fans and musicians over the course of his 30+ year career. From his early days as part of the legendary band PALAIS SCHAUMBURG, and the pioneering Detroit/Berlin act 3MB (with JUAN ATKINS and MORITZ VON OSWALD), to his longstanding membership with THE ORB, combined with his contributions as a solo artist on esteemed imprints R&S, PLUG RESEARCH and of course KOMPAKT, where he has released 2 full length solo albums, his musical works have been prolific, not to mention four singles and a full serving of tracks found on Kompakt’s POP AMBIENT and TOTAL collections

From punkrock to acid, ballads to techno, “Whirlpool” to “KOMPAKT” – cologne-based producer, singer and DJ Justus Köhncke has surely come a long way. Justus started off in the late 80s with his first project “Blood And Honey”, a Düsseldorf-based duo doing nothing but electronic versions of Amanda Lear songs. After moving to cologne in 1990, Justus, heavily influenced by house music, began producing tracks with different people, especially DJs Hans Nieswandt and Eric D. Clark. At this time, he started spinning his own special mixture of records in the cologne scene as well.
