Thorsten Quaeschning & Pyrolator at Synthesizer Museum / Tuesday, 11.2.2025

As the opening event for Berlin’s new Synthesizer Museum brought to you from the people at Schneiders Laden mainstays of the krautrock and NDW scene Thorsten Quaeschning & Pyrolator will play special live shows.

Kurt “Pyrolator” Dahlke. Specialist for music and computer. Founder of the record label and music publishing house atatak (more than 150 publications since 1979). Member of the groups “Fehlfarben”, “Der Plan”, “The Nights”, “a certain frank” and solo as “Pyrolator”. Former member of “D.A.F.” and pioneer of the “Neue Deutsche Welle” (German New Wave).

He produced more than 200 records and CDs and was active on over 100 publications as a composer, musicians and software programmer. His main instruments are the “Thunder & Lightning II” built by the Synthesizer-Pioneer Donald Buchla, with which he is controlling the music by the movement or the pressure of the hands. Productions, concerts and installations since 1980 in Korea, Japan, the USA, Argentina, West & Nord Africa, central and Eastern Europe.

Thorsten Quaeschning is a German musician. He is the bandleader of the electronic music group Tangerine Dream which he joined in 2005. He was chosen to continue as leader of the group by founder Edgar Froese shortly before his death in 2015. He performs synthesizers, vocals, guitar and drums. Before joining Tangerine Dream, Quaeschning worked as a producer for the band Minory. Afterwards, he began to tour with Tangerine Dream behind the scenes in 2003 before joining them two years later.
