The emotionality of a pop song, Verdi’s greatest hits and a stuttering reflection on the regression of the listening: The critical text by Theodor W. Adorno is the starting point of a discursive evening with the theatre collective copy & waste. The Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop designs versatile and inclined planes in order to listen to possible echoes and meanings of Adorno’s text and at the same time drown it out with several musical forms. In an overall composition by Clara Gervais a melodrama evolves, in which Adorno’s renowned essay on serious and pop music itself seems to become music.
