The UM Festival for contemporary art, music and literature takes place every two years in the Uckermark region north-east of Berlin around the villages of Fergitz and Pinnow. Under this year’s title »Connect«, everything on September 9 and 10 will revolve around connections.
»Connect« implies the inseparable connection of particles, regardless of their distance from each other. The aim of the UM Festival is to enliven and draw attention to one of the most beautiful, but also structurally weakest areas of Germany through the art event. The program is diverse – it offers artists the opportunity to work in this unique environment, and the Uckermark itself becomes a cultural landscape that can be experienced by all. Our exhibition spaces are fields, forests, lakes, abandoned farmsteads or other unusual places where the works are created and placed in the context on site.
The artists, musicians and authors are invited to develop works at various locations that interact with each other, with people and with nature. Two intense days full of culture await us. Expect inspiring concerts by Baal & Mortimer and Post Neo, a world premiere collaboration with Robert Lippok and Zeynep Ayşe Hatipoğlu,
Readings and performances with Thies Mynther & Veit Sprenger, Slata Roschal, Antonia Baum, AnniKa von Trier, Elke Horner and Viola Yip, light installations by Annika Hippler and sculptural works by Brad Nath and Kyoco Taniyama, the Mö collective and Andreas Greiner.
