KETEV is a post techno project by Berlin-based sound artist and composer Yair Elazar Glotman. Phasing patterns from Reel-to-reel tape loops being manipulated by 4-Track cassette decks creating roaring textures above slow shifting rhythmic mantras. KETEV released his debut album on the experimental techno label Opal Tapes and is about to release his forthcoming Album on the UK Label Where to Now? In addition, he works as a sound designer and composer for film, dance and video art.

How and when did you get into making music?
I got my first guitar when I was 8, beforehand I would tape radio shows and make mix tapes out of them.

The Soviet memorial in the middle of the Treptower park – it makes me feel very insignificant, just like Trotsky would have wanted.

How important is technology to your creative process?
Whatever gets the job done. I’m not keen on technology for the sake of the cutting edge, but for what kind of sound I get out of it in the end.
Do you have siblings and are they proud or jealous of you?
I have an older sister and I’m proud of her, so she better be proud of me too.
